Artist's Trajectory
1970s - Academic Art
The terms academicism and academism, or Academic Art, refer to a European artistic style that existed between the 17th and 19th centuries and was characterized by an attempt to rigorously maintain the formal, aesthetic and technical rules of art academies. In modern times, it is used to describe works that seek to follow stricter norms, usually in terms of composition, light and color realism.
1980's - Impressionism
Impressionism is an artistic movement that emerged in the 19th century. In general, it is used to refer to artists who create images based on the impression that light produces on their point of view, rather than according to a supposed objective reality.
1990's - Expressionism
Expressionism was an avant-garde artistic movement in opposition to French Impressionism. The idea of expressionism, at that time and still today, was that art is characterized by emotionally and viscerally charged images. The colors and shapes do not correspond to the direct reality of Monet, nor to the ethereal nature illustrated by the artist.
2000's - Realism
Realism founded an artistic school that emerged in the 19th century in reaction to Romanticism and developed based on the observation of reality, reason and science. The beautiful and the ideal are replaced by the real and the objective, in an art that is closer to concrete references.
2010's and 2020's - Abstractionism
Abstractionism is an artistic movement in which the representation of reality is deconstructed through the use of abstract colors, lines and shapes. The concept was consolidated in the early 20th century, when there was a complete break with any concrete reference.
2010's and 2020's - Contemporary Figurative Art
Contemporary Figurative Art seeks to treat the figure and concrete references of the world as we know it in a non-academic way. It is a less realistic visual expression. Impressionistic, expressionistic and abstract elements are present. The image does not abandon the real reference, but treats it in a modern way in terms of strokes, shapes and colors.
